Shishima saves Naruto from Ooki's genjutsu trap, and ends up protecting Naruto from an attack. After Naruto appears to be defeated, Toki gives up the will to live. Naruto sees a white figure appear before him in the form of Sagi, who asks him to make time move again for Toki.
Shishima follows Naruto and finds a trapdoor with water flowing. He falls in and is swept along and to the spot where Sagi, Toki, and he spent a lot of time. He gets out of the water and sees Naruto staring blankly ahead as Mousou is starting to drag him underwater. Shishima shouts at Naruto to wake up and Naruto comes out from under Mousou's genjutsu just as he goes under the water. He throws a kunai at Mousou and gets away. He swims to where Shishima is and they start looking for Toki. They see her on a boat with Mousou. Mousou reveals his true self, Oki leader of the wandering ninja.
Oki throws some shurikin at Naruto and Shishima uses his body to shield Naruto from them badly wounding him. Oki then uses a Waterstyle Tsunami jutsu and knocks Naruto out. Oki then tells Toki that he is about to end her life and she gives up hope, thinking everyone is now dead. Sagi's ghost wakes Naruto and tells Naruto that he must save his sister. Naruto comes to and knocks Oki from the boat and sets Toki free. He then fights Oki and defeats him. Toki finds Shishima and fears that he is dead. She starts to cry and a tear falls on his cheek waking him up.
All of the guards, Shishima, and Koumei gather to hear Toki speak. She apologizes for the way that she has acted and begs their forgiveness. She points out that Naruto changed her purpose and with that our heroes leave for the Leaf Village. On the way back Neji reveals that the first Noroimusha they fought was in fact a real ghost. Naruto freaks out and Kakashi tells him to settle down.
