Naruto, Hinata and Kiba are sent off on a mission to capture a thief named Gosunkugi, and along the way, they meet another bounty hunter who is also after him.
IIt seems that the 5th Hokage (Lady Tsunade) is giving Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata an easy mission. They are to capture a thief named Gosunkugi. Kiba and Naruto complain that this mission seems too easy, but accept it anyway. Soon they come to the last location that Gosunkugi was spotted. The area resembles the wild west of 1880's America. Naruto decides that they need to get some information from the locals and they go to what looks like a saloon. Naruto tries to order something and as he holds out his money bag, a big guy tries to take it. Naruto knocks him away and into a table. Just as the big guy and his buddies were about to rush our heroes, a stranger intervenes. He knocks out the big guy. It seem that the big guy had a bounty on him and the stranger tells the barkeep to collect it.
Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata follow the bounty hunter named Sazanami. He tricks them into following him out of town where he attacks them and quickly knocks out Hinata and Kiba. Naruto almost gets Sazanami to fall for the same trick that he used on Neji, but he too is knocked out.
Sazanami finds Gosunkugi and attacks him and his escort. Gosunkugi uses a jutsu with nails and badly wounds Sazanami. Just as he is about to finish him off, Naruto shows up all around with his shadow clones. Gosunkugi thinks that it is reinforcements and retreats. Naruto, Kiba, and Hinata take Sazanami to a building and tend to his wounds. A large man bursts through the building, but is easily beaten off. He leaves behind a wanted poster with a picture of Sazanami on it. It appears that the bounty hunter has a bounty on him.
